பொருள் விளக்கம்:
தெய்வத்தான் ஆகா தெனினும்: விதி அல்லது கடவுளின் அருளால் ஒரு செயல் நடக்கவில்லை என்றாலும்.
முயற்சிதன் மெய்வருத்தக் கூலி தரும்: இடைவிடாது முயற்சி செய்தால், அந்த முயற்சி செய்த உடலின் உழைப்பிற்கு ஏற்ற பலன் (கூலி) கண்டிப்பாகக் கிடைக்கும். [1, 2, 3]

விதியை நினைத்து சோர்ந்து போகாமல், விடாமுயற்சியுடன் உழைக்க வேண்டும். அந்த உழைப்பு பாழாகாது, நமக்கு நிச்சயம் ஏதேனும் ஒரு வகையில் வெற்றியைத் தரும் என்பதே வள்ளுவர் கூறும் அறிவுரை. இது ஆள்வினையுடைமை (Hard work) அதிகாரத்தின் கீழ் வருகிறது. [1, 2]
